Can you tell us a little about The Orchards and what makes this project unique within the Sydney market?
The Orchards is a five stage masterplanned community in Norwest. Our properties showcase premium finishes, views and lifestyle amenities throughout the shared masterplan.
What was the vision for the display apartments, and what did you want prospective buyers to feel when they walked through the spaces?
Veue has attracted many first home buyers and investors, so we wanted to make them feel as if they were walking into their home but still showcasing elevated furnishing throughout. It helps give them ideas of how they can furnish their new home too. Veue is also a more premium product at a great price point, so we wanted this reflected in the displays.
With four display apartments being styled, was there a particular brief or design direction you wanted carried consistently across the apartments?
As we are targeting first home buyers and investors, we wanted the schemes and furniture pieces to be more targeted to their demographics. Each unit is also unique with their own colour scheme, layouts and views so we wanted the brief to be the same but showcase a different identity in each.

What made you choose Domus Interiors to furnish and style The Orchards?
I had previously worked with Sales Director Marcella and saw her LinkedIn post of Domus Interiors. We like to branch out to different stylists, and I could see the portfolio they offered was exactly what we were looking for.
What were you looking for in an interior styling partner, and how did Domus meet that brief?
A team who could meet and work with the expectations of our team. Domus definitely did that as we only had 1 round of minor changes which is different to what we’ve previously done.
Having worked through the project with the Domus team, what stood out to you about the way we approached the brief and delivered the apartments?
It was the collaborative approach throughout the project. They took the time to understand the vision for Veue Central and delivered apartments that balanced between quality, design and functionality. Their proactive communication and attention to detail was also very strong.

How do you feel the completed interiors have brought the vision for The Orchards to life?
Walking through the apartments, you can see how the design connects to the audience we are attracting and the aspiration of The Orchards. The feedback also received by our sales team & CEOs from Australia and Japan has been nothing but positive; they were happy with every detail.
What do you think the interiors add to the buyer experience when they walk through the apartments?
It’s an emotional connection and the interiors showcase a sense of homeyness but still elevating the interiors with the attention to detail.
Was there a particular detail, space or styling element that you felt really elevated the finished apartments?
The living spaces. We have stunning views with big open windows and the pieces in the main area bring it all together.

How important is the relationship between the developer and the interior styling team when creating a successful display suite?
Very important, it’s how we achieve a great outcome in showcasing the potential of purchasers’ homes, and having their expertise on what will and won’t work is valuable to us.
What was your experience working with Domus throughout the process, particularly with coordinating four apartments as part of one project?
Honestly, I was nervous because we had such a short timeline and engaging a new company on short notice was a risk. Although because I have worked with Marcella before and based off the first comms after the brief was sent, I could already tell it was going to be a smooth process, and it was! It was the easiest and quickest process, and the team worked well with our site team as construction was well underway.
Would you work with Domus again on a future Sekisui project, and why?
Yes, I’ve already recommended them to the other marketing teams for their projects.

If you were to describe your experience working with Domus in three words, what would they be?
Collaborative, committed and trusting
What would you say to another developer considering Domus for their next project?
Worth sending a brief over and considering Domus. They can work with all requirements and that’s the one thing I found beneficial as our team had a lot of those.
With four apartments being delivered simultaneously, what was important to you about having a team that could manage the project from furnishing through to installation and styling?
It definitely took a lot of weight off my shoulders that they managed the whole process and again worked with our site team directly to get things done. It was mainly important that it was all done smoothly with everyone coordinated and aware of what was happening.
